Why We Perform It
Snoring often occurs when the soft palate and throat tissues relax and vibrate during sleep. NightLase® is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to gently tighten these tissues and improve airway stability without surgery. Most Patients require 3 sessions 4-6 weeks apart.
Indications
- Primary snoring without significant obstructive sleep apnea
- Mild airway collapse at the level of the soft palate
- Patients seeking a non-surgical snoring treatment
Who Is Not Eligible for NightLase®
NightLase is most effective for patients with primary snoring or mild airway collapse at the level of the soft palate. It may not be suitable for individuals with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea, significant anatomical airway obstruction, or body mass index (BMI) above approximately 28, where weight-related airway narrowing plays a larger role.
Patients with large tonsils, significant nasal obstruction, or tongue-base collapse may benefit from alternative or additional treatments. A detailed airway assessment is performed before recommending NightLase to ensure the most appropriate treatment plan.
The Technique – NightLase Laser Therapy
NightLase uses controlled laser energy applied to the tissues of the soft palate and oropharynx. The laser gently heats the tissue, stimulating collagen contraction and tightening the airway structures. The procedure is performed in the clinic without anesthesia and typically takes around 20 minutes.
A simple outpatient procedure. No Anesthesia required. No downtime. Well tolerated by most Patients.
After the Procedure
Patients usually return to normal activities immediately after treatment. Mild throat warmth or dryness may occur for a few hours. Improvement in snoring typically develops gradually over several weeks as tissue tightening occurs.
